Licensed Principal Engineer, Full-Time
Desired Locations: NJ, AL, GA, SC, LA
Status: Full-Time, Comprehensive Benefits Package
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred.
- P.E. license required.
- Minimum eight (8) years engineering experience and three (3) years forensic experience required.
- Experience working with law firms and insurance companies required.
- Deposition and expert testimony experience preferred.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities for this position:
- Provide residential and commercial site investigations to determine cause and origin of structural failure.
- Investigate and assess damages due to catastrophes such as storm damage, hurricanes, and floods.
- Provide signed and sealed detailed reports outlining cause and origin of damage to clients.
- Manage multiple projects and assumes responsibility for project execution within budget and on time.
- Research technical publications and literature in support of evaluations.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other Engineers.
- Review work of Senior and Staff Engineers and Engineering Intern(s).
- Communicate directly with clients regarding project status.
- Market Engineering Services when not directly working on a job.
- Adhere to the Company Drug Free Workplace Policy and successfully complete pre-employment and random drug screenings.
- Successfully complete background-screening processes, including criminal, social security verification, credit history, workers’ compensation, and MVR screenings.
- Applicant possess a Valid Driver’s License
Licensed Electrical Engineer - Power Option, Full-Time
Desired Location: Florida
Status: Full-Time, Comprehensive Benefits Package
Travel throughout the state of Florida: Required
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- E.I. license
- Prior experience related to construction is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
- Valid Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
- Certification or experience with electrical codes (NEC, Florida Building Code) is preferred
- At least 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with proven experience in mechanical failure analysis or related field.
- PLC and relay logic experience would be an asset.
- Transformer design and maintenance would be an asset.
- Knowledge of marine vessel systems; especially electrical systems would be an asset
- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities for this position:
- Conduct site investigations of electrical failures (low and high voltage and batteries), shock and electrocution accidents, fires and explosions, and other incidents to determine the root cause and contributing factors.
- Analyze electrical and battery systems, components, and wiring to identify potential design flaws, installation issues, maintenance problems, code violations, substandard workmanship or safety violations.
- Work closely with other experts (e.g., fire investigators, electrical/mechanical engineers) to assess complex incidents.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, simulations, and calculations to identify the cause of electrical and battery system failures or accidents.
- Evaluate the application of electrical codes, regulations, good engineering practice and safety standards in the failed system or incident
- Prepare comprehensive and clear technical reports detailing the findings of investigations, including scientific analysis (scientific method) of electrical system failures.
- Provide visual aids such as diagrams, photographs, and schematics to illustrate technical findings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of investigation processes, tests, and outcomes.
- Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings, including court trials, depositions, and arbitration hearings, providing testimony about the cause of electrical incidents.
- Present complex technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear and understandable manner.
- Advise on proper installation practices, code compliance, and risk reduction strategies for electrical and battery systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Ensure all investigations, analyses, and recommendations comply with national and local electrical codes as well as other industry regulations and standards.
- Identify violations of electrical safety codes or improper practices that could have led to incidents or failures.
- Adhere to the Company Drug Free Workplace Policy and successfully complete pre-employment and random drug screenings.
